Holders of the Further vocational qualification in the Textiles and Fashion Industry

  • follow the development of the industry and utilise their knowledge of the developments of services, products and manufacture in diverse ways in their work
  • work in a professional and a quality-conscious manner and with cost-awareness, promoting the principles of sustainable development.
  • communicate about their skills and carry out marketing communications about products or services and produce content
  • productise a product or a service
  • serve customers and work in a customer-oriented, responsible and goal-oriented manner observing the rules of working life in the global and multi-cultural operating environment of the industry
  • according to their choices, make materials or products used in the industry or produce services
  • use different raw materials, materials and working methods in appropriate ways, taking into consideration their special properties
  • use the machines, equipment and tools of the industry diversely
  • keep up to date with and take advantage of the phenomena in fashion and use their knowledge of traditions and design skills
  • exploit trends, visual aspects and shape control in their work.

Qualification holders have the vocational skills required in working life, specialising according to their choices in the design and manufacture of textiles and fashion products or in the production of services.

Specialist Vocational Qualification in Hairdressing and Beauty Care

Holders of the specialist vocational qualification in hairdressing and beauty care have diverse manual skills and specialist skills in different work and care methods. They are able to provide individualised high-quality service to their customers, taking advantage of their wide knowledge of products and special expertise. They are able to create collaboration networks with other specialists. Qualification holders can manage customerships and provide added value to customers by developing services. They are able to plan, implement and manage different projects. They know how to ensure occupational and customer safety in all situations, and how to develop their work community and promote sustainable development. They know how to evaluate their own work and use it to improve their work and as part of their career planning.

Barbers (SQ) are able to provide to customers different hair and beard styling service packages in which they use demanding colouring, perming and barbering techniques.

Hairdressers (SQ) are able provide to customers different hairdressing and make-up service packages in which they use demanding colouring, perming and hairdressing techniques.

Specialist Beauty Therapists are able to provide to customers different skin care service packages in which they use specialised treatment methods.

Beauty Consultants (SQ) are able to train target groups consisting of consumers and business customers.

Optional units expand or deepen students' skills in all competence areas.

Specialist vocational qualification in the Textiles and Fashion Industry

Qualification holders who have completed the Specialist vocational qualification in the Textiles and Fashion Industry have in-depth vocational skills suitable for the development of product manufacture, services or activities in the industry according to the choices they have made. They are able to instruct, guide, assess and develop the work processes, work methods and tools of the industry and work responsibly and with an awareness of the importance of ecological and ethical issues in promoting sustainable development in the industry. As necessary, they know how to draw on the latest trends, their expertise in materials and their cultural and heritage knowledge as well as digitality. Qualification holders work in networks, improve their competence and follow the global development of the industry. They work in a goal-oriented and flexible manner as part of a team or network.

Vocational qualification in Hairdressing and Beauty Care

Valid from 1.8.2022

Qualification holders possess the competence required in serving customers and selling hairdressing and beauty care products and services. In addition to customer service skills, a good knowledge of products and taking care of the safety of work and customers are key competencies. In addition to the extensive basic competence, qualification holders have more specialised skills based on their competence areas. Beauty consultants are able to provide guidance and advice on skin and hair care and the use of products to customers. Beauty therapists have the vocational skills required in performing facial treatments, pedicures and manicures, and guide customers in self-care of the skin and in the use of the products. Hairdressers and barbers have the vocational skills required in performing haircuts using hairdressing techniques and in styling hair using different techniques. Barbers know how to do haircuts using barbering techniques, style hair, and perform beard treatments. Competence can be further expanded with optional units in all competence areas.
