Further Vocational Qualification in Business

Valid from 1.1.2019

Candidates have customer-oriented skills in business management, communications and interaction, languages and financial management. They use information and communication technology appropriately and work in different digital environments. They network professionally and improve their business skills systematically. They have the abilities required for entrepreneurship and first-line management. The competence of qualification holders varies according to the selected competence areas and optional units.

Qualification holders who have completed the Competence area in Business Services have the skills required in different assistant and secretarial tasks, information and document management tasks or lobby services and multi-service tasks.

Qualification holders who have completed the Competence area in Sales Work and Marketing have the skills required in sales, marketing or both. They know how to plan and implement marketing and sales, monitor the profitability of measures taken and improve the customer experience.

Qualification holders who have completed the Competence area in Estate Agency Services have the skills required in the valuation, selling and purchasing, or letting of apartments of housing companies and shares of real property companies. They master the principles of good estate agency practices.

Qualification holders who have completed the Competence area in Financial Services have the skills required in tasks involving finance, saving and investing, banking services, risk insurance, compensation services, pension insurances or back office operations. Qualification holders have an overall understanding of financial services and the operators providing them.

Qualification holders who have completed the Competence area in Business Administration, Financing and Accounting have the skills required in tasks related to payroll calculation, accounting, ledger management, closing the accounts, internal accounting and budgeting, or financial management guidance.

Qualification holders who have completed the Competence area in International Business and Forwarding have the skills required in different import or export tasks in foreign trade. Students know the international operating environment to the extent required in their work.

Further vocational qualification in entrepreneurship

Students are able to assess their prerequisites to work as an entrepreneur. They know how to draw up a business plan and develop business activities in a responsible manner. They are able to assess the opportunities and future development prospects provided by digitalisation. Students network and use information and communication technology and help from experts appropriately. They have communication and interaction skills and general financial management skills. They are able to develop their own competence systematically and look after their wellbeing at work. The competence of qualification holders varies by competence area and according to the optional units they have chosen.

Qualification holders who have completed the competence area of business advisory services have customer-oriented advisory skills and business competence. Students are able to provide advice in matters related to launching and developing entrepreneurial activities. In their advisory activities, they pay attention to the responsibility of the business activities. Students know how to market business advisory services, network diversely and take advantage of information from experts of different fields in their duties. Students develop their own competence systematically and look after their wellbeing at work. The competence of qualification holders varies according to the optional units they have chosen.

The competence in optional units may be related to sales and marketing, organisation and management of work, development of products or services, financial management, planning and development of production, setting up and developing an online shop, purchasing a company, or digitalisation of business activities.

Further vocational qualification in Information and Communication Technology

Valid from 1.1.2021

Holders of a further vocational qualification in information and communication technology have the vocational skills required to independently plan and implement an assignment according to the customer’s wishes in work tasks and working environments in the information and communication technology sector. They work adeptly, promoting cooperation with different stakeholders. They follow the rapidly changing sector, update their knowledge and develop their competence. They network and share information with other professionals of their field.

Further vocational qualification in Media

Valid from 1.8.2018

Holders of a Further vocational qualification in Media have the vocational skills required in tasks in the field of media. They know the operating field of the media sector and master the production processes of the competence areas in graphic communication, audiovisual communication and photography. In addition, holders of a Further vocational qualification in Media also master the special features in their chosen field of media.

The Further vocational qualification in Media consists of one compulsory unit, one compulsory unit specific to the competence area and two optional units. The unit compulsory for all candidates is Knowledge of the operating environment of the media sector. The three competence areas of the Further vocational qualification in Media are the Competence area in Audiovisual Communication, the Competence area in Graphic Communication and the Competence area in Photography. A compulsory unit from another competence area or a unit from some other further vocational qualification or specialist vocational qualification may also be completed as an optional unit.

Further Vocational Qualification in Property Management

Valid from 1.1.2018

Holders of a Further Vocational Qualification in Property Management are skilled in looking after the administration, finances, and technical life cycle of properties following an annual calendar and a strategy agreed upon with the customer or the owner. They are able to see to contractual issues, document practices, and notifications to authorities related to a site they manage. Qualification holders know how to take care of risk management, customer services, and communication, and they develop their own activities using up-to-date working methods.

Depending on the optional units selected, qualification holders specialise in managing housing companies, rental properties or business premises. Qualification holders have also deepened their competence in the provision of housing advice, technical services, or management of a newly built property, or by planning a development project associated with property management work.

Specialist vocational qualification in First-Level Management in Production

Valid from 1.1.2019

The Specialist vocational qualification in First-Level Management in Production (180 competence points) is intended for persons who work in supervisory and managerial positions in the industrial and production sectors and want to develop their competence. The Specialist Qualification in First-Level Management in Production consists of a compulsory unit (80 competence points) and optional units (100 competence points).

Qualification holders are able to manage the personnel of their area of responsibility, manage the production work in their area of responsibility, work in accordance with the safety instructions and environmental guidelines in their organisation and develop their supervisory skills.

Holders of the Qualification in First-Level Management in Production have the knowledge and skills required in the special areas of their chosen units. The competence related to the optional units may be related to production management, development of the personnel's competence, management of maintenance work in production, project management in a production environment or safety and environmental management in production.

Specialist vocational qualification in Information and Communication Technology

Holders of a specialist vocational qualification in information and communication technology have the vocational skills required for managing the development of information and communication technologies and processing agreements and documents in the sector. They have strong knowledge of the operating environment of information and communications technology, based on which they know how to describe the objectives and manage work to achieve the agreed objectives.

Specialist Vocational Qualification in Property Management

Valid from 1.1.2018

Holders of the specialist vocational qualification in property management are capable of assuming the overall responsibility for the operation and development of properties in collaboration with customers and stakeholders and abiding by an agreed-upon strategy. They know how to manage the administration, finances, and technical life cycle of a demanding site in a goal-oriented manner. They know how to prepare a service plan for a site, manage a service network, communicate interactively, and produce positive customer experiences and added value for the stakeholders.

Depending on the optional units selected, qualification holders have particularly strong competence in developing property management, management of renovation and repair projects, or business management.

Holders of a vocational qualification in information and communications technology have the vocational skills required for carrying out tasks in the field of information and communications technology and are able to work co-operatively in environments related to information and communications technology. Qualification holders know how to use the vocabulary specific to the field, find out the customer’s needs and make customer-oriented decisions in tasks related to information and communications technology. They ensure that the final result meets the requirements set for the work.

Vocational Qualification in Media and Visual Expression

Holders of the vocational qualification in media and visual expression are capable of working in diverse tasks in the field of media and visual expression. Qualification holders know the operating environment of media and have the capabilities to perform a myriad of tasks in different working environments. Both people with a broad range of vocational skills and specialists in vocational skills are needed in the field of media and visual expression. Qualification holders generally possess broad capabilities in their own competence area, but they may also specialise in a specific sub-area of their competence area.
